He has served as a priest for 37 years near Frankfurt. In an open letter, he announced plans to marry his longtime partner. The Diocese of Limburg, led by Bishop Georg Bätzing, said it respects his decision and thanked the priest for decades of "service". Unfried, in turn, thanked Bishop Bätzing for treating him with "respect".

Kurz vor dem Ruhestand hängt er in einer emotionalen, öffentlichen Beichte das Messgewand an den Nagel, gibt die Pfarrei auf und will seine Freundin heiraten.

Meanwhile in the UK There are now well over 2,000 Mosques in the United Kingdom - now they want the Government to fund private security guards because of attacks they claim are happening - yet nobody sees any proof of. Meanwhile Churches get burned to the Ground on a weekly basis & Politicians & Legacy Media remain silent.

Bishop Mutsaerts on the Synod: "Repentance and Conversion Are Missing"

Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts of ’s-Hertogenbosch spoke with AdVaticanum.com on August 22 about the Synod and the decline of Catholicism in the Netherlands. Main quotes.
- “Walking together” is valuable only if the Church knows where she is walking. The destination is not increased participation but Christ.
- Consultation, participation, pastoral structures and synodal methods all have their place. Once the means start occupying more attention than the end, something has become inverted.
- The Church possesses something unusual among institutions: she has received a Revelation which she did not invent and cannot rewrite.
- The missing words in the Synod are repentance and conversion.
- The synodal process did not create the Western European crisis. But after several years, there is little evidence that it has found an effective remedy for it. The medicine resembles the disease!
- Nobody needs Christianity in order to learn that meetings should be inclusive.

Argentine Pilgrimage in Roman Rite Draws Record Number of Pilgrims

More than 2,300 Catholics took part in Argentina’s 17th Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Christendom from August 15–17. Inspired by the Paris–Chartres pilgrimage in France, this year’s pilgrimage set a new attendance record.
The pilgrims covered approximately 100 kilometres from the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rawson, in Buenos Aires Province, to the
Basilica of Our Lady of Luján, Argentina’s national Marian shrine.
Mass in the traditional Roman rite was celebrated each day at outdoor altars along the route. The traditional Mass was not permitted inside the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. The pilgrimage instead concluded at the basilica on August 17 with Eucharistic adoration and the Rosary.
Several prominent clergy took part in the pilgrimage.
- Fr. Raúl Olazábal, of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, celebrated Mass on the first day, the Feast of the Assumption.
- Fr. Augustin-Marie Aubry, prior of the Fraternity of Saint Vincent Ferrer in Chémeré, France, celebrated …વધારે

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 1,45-51.
Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth."
But Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him."
Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree."
Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."
Jesus answered and said to him, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this."
And he said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

Claimed Eucharistic Miracle Under Investigation in Guatemala

Church authorities are examining a possible Eucharistic miracle after a Host placed in water reportedly failed to dissolve and subsequently developed reddish stains that “could be blood”, the Cathedral Parish of El Niño Dios in Cuilapa, Guatemala, has announced on August 22. The parish is the cathedral of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima.
The incident began on July 30, during a Missionary Eucharistic Week. A priest was celebrating the Eucharist at a private school when he noticed that a teenage student, after receiving Holy Communion, was removing the Host from his mouth.
The priest intervened before the student could throw it to the ground.
Following the procedure used in such cases, the priest placed the Host in a glass of water in the chapel of the parish house so that it could dissolve.
When the chapel was cleaned the following Thursday, however, a parish worker found that the Host had not dissolved and noticed reddish stains which appeared as though they might be blood. A priest …વધારે

Life of Brazilian woman who lived over half a century solely on the Eucharist hits the big screen

The life of Floripes Dornellas de Jesús, known as Lola, the Brazilian servant of God who lived for over half a century without eating, drinking, or sleeping, subsisting solely on the Eucharist, is the subject of the Portuguese-language documentary “Lola of Jesus: Mystery and Devotion” by journalist and writer Rodrigo Alvarez. The production was screened last month during the third edition of Cinema ExpoCatólica at the ExpoCatólica 2026 event in São Paulo, where Alvarez also gave a talk titled “Lola and the Phenomenon of Genuine Brazilian Faith.” Who is Lola? Her inexplicable ability to live only on the Eucharist certainly draws attention to her, but for Dr. Claudio Bomtempo, who was her attending physician during the final five years of her life and is now a leading advocate for her cause of beatification, that was never the most important aspect of her person. According to Bomtempo, Lola’s mission was to make the Sacred Heart of Jesus better known and loved. “Lola did not want to be …

Leo XIV: "Faith Is Not Given Once and for All" At today’s Angelus, Leo XIV appeared to blur the distinction between the objective content of the Faith and its subjective appropriation: “Faith is not something given to us once and for all. Rather, we continually need to rediscover the face of Christ.” He then urged the faithful not to retreat into religious certainties, adding: “When it comes to the Christian faith, we may be content with […] what has been handed down to us.” Instead, Leo advocated “friendship with Jesus” through an “ever-new encounter”: “This may also ask us to follow unfamiliar paths and to make choices different from those we had imagined. This is true both for our personal journey and for the journey of the Church, as well as for our pastoral choices, when we may sometimes think that it is enough simply to continue doing things as we have always done them.”

Two short video quotes from today's Angelus: Leo XIV offers unusual definitions of faith, suggesting that focusing on what has been handed down to us is insufficient.

U.S. Vice President Attends Mass in Roman rite

Today, Vice President J.D. Vance attended a Mass in the Roman rite with his family at Old St. Mary’s Church in Cincinnati, reports Crisis Magazine editor Eric Sammons on x.com, who was present.
“It was nice to see J.D. Vance and his beautiful family at Mass this morning,” Sammons wrote on X on August 23.
Sammons said Vance lives nearby and that his family attends several Cincinnati-area parishes when in town. He added that this was Vance’s first visit to Old St. Mary’s since becoming vice president.
Vance’s presence brought additional security. According to Sammons, Secret Service agents screened everyone entering the church with handheld wands and checked bags. Sammons said the screening caused only a minute or two of waiting, describing the agents as “professional, efficient, and quite friendly.
He also noted that he had heard Vance say his family deliberately varies which churches it attends to avoid repeatedly inconveniencing parishioners at any one parish.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance attends Traditional Latin Mass with his family in Cincinnati

J.D. Vance attended a traditional Latin Mass with his family at Old St. Mary’s Church in Cincinnati on August 23. Although Vance has previously said he is not particularly devoted to the Latin Mass, he has criticized restrictions on the traditional liturgy. His attendance attracted attention because it is unusual for a sitting U.S. vice president to participate in a Mass celebrated according to the 1962 missal.

Bishop Rob Mutsaerts says ‘The missing words in the Synod are repentance and conversion’

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW [advaticanum] Bishop Rob Mutsaerts has served as the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of ’s-Hertogenbosch since 2010. His ministry has been typified by a confidence in proclaiming the truth, notably through his criticism of the 2019 Amazon Synod and his concerns over the lack of evangelical wisdom behind Traditionis Custodes.
He has also been a forceful voice against the tides of Dutch secularism in a country that has experienced some of the more pernicious elements of the trend. In the Netherlands, the lives of newborns and children under 12 can be deliberately ended without an affirmative request from the child under strictly defined circumstances, while euthanasia can be administered to those aged 12 and over in cases of psychiatric suffering. Almost 60 per cent of the country reports no religious affiliation, while Islam is the fastest-growing major religion, with more than twice as many 15–17-year-olds identifying as Muslim (14.2 per cent) as Catholic (6.9 per …વધારે

Does Leo XIV Embrace Borderless Globalism?
“People always come before borders, before definitions and institutions,” said Leo XIV at the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples in Rimini, Italy, on Saturday.
“This realization stands at the center of Christianity,” he continued with more platitudes, adding: “Evil is not fought with evil. It is time to oppose the false realism that rearms minds, words, and nations with the realism of mercy.”

On the Premiere of “Cautiva”

On August 25, 2016, Argentina awoke to the news that a monastery of Discalced Carmelites in Nogoyá, in the province of Entre Ríos, had been raided. And as details of the abuses of power taking place there began to emerge, more than one person thought, amid surprise and horror: “This could be a series.” Ten years later, that intuition became a reality. Cautiva will premiere next month on HBO, TNT and Flow.
Once it premieres, many people will have the opportunity to enter the little-known world of a cloistered monastery and discover, through fiction, the events that took place at the Carmelite monastery in Nogoyá between 2007 and 2016, during which time Silvia and Roxana were held captive by former prioress Isabel Toledo, who was sentenced to three years in prison in 2019 for these acts. And while the series opens the doors of that cloistered world to the general public, it also allowed me to enter another world that had been completely unknown to me until then: that of a large-scale …વધારે
