Dijon Archbishop Celebrates Funeral for French Freemason — Macron Delivers Speech: François Patriat — an acknowledged Freemason, Senator for Côte-d’Or and president of Macron’s RDPI group in the French Senate — received a Catholic funeral at Notre-Dame de Semur-en-Auxois. Archbishop Antoine Hérouard of Dijon presided over the funeral. President Emmanuel Macron — who has championed France’s euthanasia legislation — delivered a speech inside the church in tribute to one of his earliest and most faithful political allies: “Every time I turned around, François was there.”

Sacred Silence: What the Quiet Canon Teaches Us Why the Traditional Latin Mass prays its most sacred prayer in near-total silence, and what that silence teaches about the nature of the Eucharist Sacred Silence: What the Quiet Canon Teaches Us Why the Traditional Latin Mass prays its most sacred prayer in near-total silence, and what that silence teaches about the nature of the Eucharist Speed In Brief The silent Canon of the Traditional Latin Mass is not a communication failure, it is one of the Church’s most theologically precise liturgical gestures. Rooted in patristic practice and the theology of the ineffable, it expresses the sacred character of the consecration, the priestly nature of the sacrifice, and calls the faithful into the deepest form of participation: contemplative adoration. Its abolition in 1969 changed not just a rubric but a theological grammar. To a first-time visitor at a Traditional Latin Mass, the silent Canon is often the most disorienting moment. Rev. Michael Pfleger, 77, was reinstated effective August 24 after the Archdiocese of Chicago's Independent Review Board completed its investigation. He is known nationally for his progressive activism. Cardinal Blase Cupich, 77, said the board, assisted by the Office of Child Protection and outside investigators, concluded there was “no reason to believe” Pfleger was guilty of the allegation. Cupich accepted the recommendation and returned him to ministry at St. Sabina. According to the Chicago Sun-Times reporting, a woman alleged that Pfleger sexually abused her when she was a girl attending St. Sabina's school sometime between 1993 and 1995. The allegation surfaced this July, and Pfleger was removed from ministry on July 11 while it was investigated. Rev. Pfleger denied it emphatically from the outset, calling it an “absolute lie.” Under archdiocesan policy, the allegation was reported to police, and the accuser was offered assistance through the church's Victim Assistance Ministry. …Doliwat
“Please don’t go to Ukraine,” one warned. “If you come there as a Colombian, they’ll hug you and then stab you in the back… Don’t believe what the recruiters say, it’s all lies meant to take you to Ukraine and throw you away as cannon fodder.”
Today, Leo XIV welcomed the Lutheran State Bishops of Norway in audience. Referring to the fallen human condition, Leo XIV said it is “all too easy to adopt an attitude of hostility toward those with whom we disagree”. That is why he seeks – at least with Protestants – “concrete paths of reconciliation and of fraternity”. Leo XIV recalled Christ’s prayer for the unity of his disciples. Key phrase: “Grounded in our common Baptism and our shared mission in the world, I pray that we may always grow together in our service to the promotion of peace and justice.” Picture: Vatican Media, #newsVyggmwuakm
Ecumenism sounds nice, but it does not work. Much dialogue has produced hardly any converts to Catholicis, while there have been countless apostate Catholics who have become non-Catholic.
Perhaps the Superior General of the FSSPX should have declared himself a “Lutheran Bishop” from Norway, so he could have joined this delegation in Private Audience with Leo. Hmmm?
"WHY HAVE YOU BLOCKED ME AND REMOVED MY COMMENTS la verdad prevalece"??? Are you the moderator of Gloria.tv? ~~~ It seems I am not the only one you have blocked! ~~~ For me, blocking is a form of unwarranted censorship and a sign of weakness of those who undertake such a measure.
After the 2018 Sino-Vatican agreement “terrible things happen to Catholics” in the Fujian province, an anonymous Chinese bishop who is unaffiliated with the Chinese state church ‘Patriotic Association’, told Anthony Clark for CatholicWorldReport.com on August 23. The bishop speaks of a “state of emergency”. As government influence over the bishops increases, “the integrity of the Catholic faith will suffer.” To “assure the survival of China’s Church,” new bishops have been “secretly consecrated.” The bishop says the faithful question Rome’s genuine concern for their “spiritual well-being” when the Holy See approves government-selected bishops whom they regard as too reliable to the state. The number is unknown, but he suggested that “at least ten new bishops” were consecrated for the underground community in the Fujian province. #newsTzdkbhbakv
Prime the Vatican photocopier for more 'excommunications'. This mess is on the Vatican leadership when they cannot distinguish between a genuine (Spirit-driven?) cry for help from religious in China and elsewhere and attention-seeking exhibitionists and heretics (James Martin, et al anyone?!) who appear to have 'Get out of Orthodoxy free' cards.
Preliminary Recourse of FSSPX Rejected: The Vatican’s deadline to respond to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) regarding its preliminary recourse against the July 2 decree declaring six bishops automatically excommunicated has now passed, notes @Michael Haynes The FSSPX submitted its recourse to the Holy See on July 11. Under canon law, the competent authority had 30 days to respond. With that period now expired without a decision, the FSSPX can proceed to the next stage of its canonical challenge. Canon 1735 provides that when no decision is issued within the prescribed 30 days, the time limit for presenting hierarchical recourse begins to run from the 30th day.
Vatican diplomat calls for end to Ukraine war during Moscow visit: Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States, met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday. “Let us be clear, this war must end,” Gallagher said after the talks. He warned that every additional day of fighting creates new victims and makes future reconciliation more difficult. Gallagher said the talks also covered possible paths toward peace and humanitarian issues. It is Gallagher’s first visit to Moscow since 2021.

"Well, I guess I am also jealous of the TLM promoters. They are so well organized that, even though they are few in numbers, they get a huge amount of attention from the bishops and the media."
Leo XIV “has made room for progressive LGBTQ+ voices in several recent high-profile appointments”, writes the homosexual website Them.us on August 24. The article highlights four recent pro-homosexual appointments of bishops. The examples are: - James Checchio (New Orleans): he supported homosexual propaganda as bishop of Metuchen, New Jersey. - Ramón Bejarano (Monterey, California): he presided over homosexual Eucharists as auxiliary bishop in San Diego, including transvestites in the liturgy. - Christian Würtz (Eichstätt, Germany): he supported “blessings” for homosexuals and changes to biblical teaching on homosexuality. - Thomas Hennen (Baker, Oregon): he drafted pro-homosexual “pastoral” guidelines.

At today’s General Audience, Leo XIV praised the failed liturgical reform after Vatican II. He quoted extensively from a letter by the future Paul VI, Cardinal Montini, dated October 1962. He wrote that the faithful “cannot and must no longer remain silent and passive”. No Participation: Novus Ordo Churches Empty Leo XIV added that “the participation of the faithful cannot be passive”. The Conciliar reform “was intended to allow the liturgy to shine forth”. He believes there was “the need to make the richness of the biblical texts and prayers more accessible to all the faithful”. "Necessary" to Revise Liturgy Furthermore, Leo XIV claims that the liturgy “has always been subject to developments and changes”. “It is therefore not surprising that the Second Vatican Council too, with the utmost respect for the heritage of tradition, and precisely in order to make it more accessible, considered it necessary to revise the liturgical books.” According to Leo XIV, “the liturgical reform promoted …Doliwat
Leo XIV: “A radical reform of the liturgical rites was not in fact necessary in order to make the liturgy more accessible after the Second Vatican Council — a reality that the full, conscious, actual and extraordinarily fruitful participation in the unreformed rites today makes perfectly clear.”
